Happy Halloween/Samhain/Toussaint everyone! <3
As the title indicates, I just changed out of my costume.
It consisted of:
White socks + white tights
Black trousers just below the knee
Uncomfortable shoes of the type belonging to the Norwegian national costume (black, high heel, buckle)
Slightly see-through white poet's shirt (with an itchy top underneath) + black waistcoat
Very very tacky red and white gem/gold brooch. Four different rings.
LOTS of white makeup.
Now I've got on the softest most comfy clothes I could find.XD So the only IC thing that remains is my now much shorter and curlier hair. ^^
(Lol I forgot to mention I got a haircut awhile ago.)
I had three friends over for Halloween, they left around twelve. They all dressed up, so we had two vampires (one supposed Armand *cough*), one fairy, and Teddy Lupin. 8D
(Lol nobody finds my house. Seriously. The two friends who hadn't been here before both went the same wrong way, and I had to pick them both up. And then five minutes after I got back here with the last one, I had to do the same with the pizza guy. *HEADDESK*)
So yeah we had pizza, and we were originally supposed to watch The Lost Boys, but we ended up just chatting, and later playing miming games, instead. That was pretty cosy. ^^
Earlier in the day, I had quite a lot of work carving out not one, but two pumpkins. (It's so tiring!)
I'd never done it before, so I took pics during the process. I thought the finished result became pretty good, especially for a first attempt. :D
I only have outdoors-pic of one of them though.

This is for
I love you, dear. ^^
I’ve walked ten kilometres today. *awe*
First of all: WE HAVE A NEW HOME PC. :D I'm thinking of naming it Sherlock... because it can solve problems just by sitting still, it's fast and black and shiny and it's got lots of memory. It's a bit too stationary to be Sherlock, tho. More Mycroft-y. But on the other hand, not obese enough for Mycroft.
Um, sorry. /rant
For the past couple of days I've been completely without a computer, since my school pc also got a bit fucked... that was awful, seriously. It's crazy how addicted we are to technology today... just getting by in school presented a huge problem. But now all that should be over. Fingers crossed.
I was really bouncy today about this pc... but there was so much bullshit with setting it up tonight, that just totally punctured my mood, so now I'm sort of... half-emo.
(Tho, I spend a lot of time being half-emo lately. Shouldn't come as a surprise. XD)
Also: NRK3 is gonna start airing:
True Blood. Slightly to my shame I'll probably end up watching it. I did read the books after all... and Eric is looking pretty hot, altho not quite as I pictured him. I wonder if they've sexed up the show as much as it seems by the pics/trailers...
Guess time will show. I need something to replace House and Merlin. *curses Norwegian tv people*
Oh, and I'm totally excited about Halloween. I think there will be a party this year. WITH the obligatory dress-up, movie and miming games. It's nice to have something to look forward to. ^^
Yesterday was pretty damn awesome.
There was a free rock concert hosted in town, called Granittrock, and me and some people from school went down. Two girls from my class, and we brought another along as well.
I was pretty excited, since the main attraction was a Norwegian band named Kaizers Orchestra, and I’ve been in love with those guys since I was 10 or 11 years old. ^^
When we got there, the previous concert was just ending. This was Satyricon, a Norwegian metal band. I had sorta half-wanted to see their concert too, since I thought I might like them, and what little we saw of it looked pretty good. The music was SO LOUD, so we didn’t get too close, but it didn’t sound like just unpleasant noise and roaring... I think I should check them out.
Like all bands of that definition (Satan rockers XD), they were long-haired, black-clad and headbanging. The lead singer, however, had short black hair which he kept slicked back, and with his tight black clothing he looked like Crowley and Hastur’s lovechild. He was HOT. (And the whole scene, with red lighting and a large trident on stage, gave me Hell associations. From a Good Omens perspective it was pretty fun. 8D)
And while we’re on the subject of GO: one of the partners of the rock festival was an educational project. So in addition to lots of tents where they did science projects and the like, there was, like... a mini library that held Harry Potter quizzes and awarded books to the winners, and this was on the same lawn as the main stage with the Satan rockers. It was hilarious. Quite a joint effort, this festival, by the looks of it.XDD
(We knew the answers to all 3 oh-so-difficult questions, so we won a silly manga in Norwegian translation. Maybe I should feel bad that we snatched a prize in front of the little kids' eyes, but... mehhh. Bigguns have the rights.XD)
Kaizers were wonderful live, as they always are. The lead singer is so great, his voice is amazing. And they’ve got this great chemistry and sense of humour, and they don’t take themselves very seriously at all. It’s so much fun to watch them, and they always make a great show, talking to the crowd and getting them to sing along. ^^ And of course, their holycrapwow lovely music on eardrum-blasting level, and the actual sight of the band banging their oil barrels... mmm. *purr*
When I woke up today I was SO hoarse and sore-throated. I sang and screamed too much last night. But there’s something so great about concerts where you get to scream till you’re dizzy.
Afterwards was kinda hilarious. SO MANY PEOPLE on the subway station. I took a piccie:

It seems we're gonna be doing more or less the same topic simultaneously in three subjects (ancient history up till more modern times in both Norwegian, History & Philosophy and ordinary History class), but I had expected some overlap, and I ain't complaining. :D
The subjects are okay, and my math teacher looks a bit like Christian Bale. At least from the side. Nice biceps. Sadly not a great teacher.XD
Also it looks like my Latin class will be going to Rome sometime in March. That should be funfunfun. ^^
I have 3 lessons less a week this year, and I'm feeling it. Such a relief. Downside of new timetable: first two lessons Monday are P.E.
I WILL BE SO DEAD.
On an unrelated note: No VC movie after all - well, okay. I can totally live with that. It is a bit fun to get all excited about something, and fail!movies can be amusing too... so it's definitely a duller world without it. But I'm sure Lestat is very pleased, and I understand him.x) I expect the fandom will die down to a quiet murmur again now, but I know I'm feeling a bit... quickened in my VC fangirliness by this all. XD
- Mood:
calm
As I haven't finished the book yet, I'm okay with it because I'm chalking it up to hormones on both their parts, and hoping and praying that it won't last.
Thankyou.
PS: Please tell Neil Gaiman not to write so fucking sad endings, as The Graveyard Book utterly fucked with my head; but that I do love me a good old-fashioned parental vampire with tendencies towards melancholy.
- Mood:
shocked
Somehow, I think I'm getting used to the thought of an older actor now... I probably just needed to get over the shock. I still think it wouldn't be quite right, but I would willingly sacrifice Lestat's good (young) looks for a chance of seeing the VC on screen.
Still worried as heck about the other chars tho. XD
And if they're gonna use the TVL plotline... let's just say it has a lot of potential, visually (the era, the costumes, the settings) and plot-wise, and it's full of charismatic characters and presences who would fit really well into the movie format. But I'm hesitant. I'm afraid that they'll go totally overboard with things and miss all of the subtlety and... ghh. *flail* Ok, relax. It might not even happen.

I dunno if I should be excited, or pray this film never happens.
Pros: Seeing these novels on the silver screen would be huge. Bigger than Harry Potter. (I never thought I'd say that.) Since I'm way too young to have seen the previous movies when they came, I'm pretty damn excited about that possibility.
Cons: SO many things that could go wrong... I totally respect that casting vampires is a very tough thing to do since their outward appearance isn't supposed to harmonize with their attitude/thoughts/experiences etc. So picking a young shallow pretty thing to play them is probably not too wise. (*cough*Twilight*cough*) But RDJ? No. Just... no.
Now, I wouldn't weep if Lestat got miscast, I can live with that. But if they can pick RDJ for him, what are they liable to do with the others? I'm not sure if I can take any more asshats in fugly wigs.
I guess time will show... until then I'm gonna sit here stunned. And to think, I was worried about the Holmes movie.

I want a Ricean vampire. But I can't choose!
I can haz several Ricean vampires? Louis on my throat, Armand on one wrist, Marius on the other? I don't think I want Lestat anywhere near my veins, thankyouverymuch. And if someone is to be nibbling on my neck, I think I want it to be the one with a conscience. XD
...then again, maybe someone with self control would be better. So perhaps Armand? If he could be persuaded to behave? *cough* XDD
Oh, the dilemma! Maybe I could persuade them to share. |3 *drifts off into daydream*

We went to more Southern parts of Norway today, now we're in Arendal, a smallish city where mum's friend lives.
Driving down on the bus was lovely. Nearly the whole stretch goes through woodland with the occasional house here and there on rolling tree-covered hills, and some places the forest was really thick on both sides of the road.
If there's one thing I like about Norway, it's the fact that we have so large amounts of dense, dark forests, glassy lakes and smoky swirly fog.
I was reading The Ladies of Grace Adieu by Susanna Clarke (great book) on the way and listening to dreamy music. It felt like driving through a fairytale or the England of her novels - full of magic and faerie and the mysterious presence of the magicians of old.
Sadly since we were on the bus I didn't get to take any good pics (a couple with my phone, but they sorta blow), so have two from the great internet. It's as close as I could get.
(If you click on the pics you can see them bigger.^^)

They'd decorated Akershus Festning, the local medieval fortress, with coloured illumination, dark mark images, and that kind of thing.
The grounds were full of people in black cloaks holding torches, and a large number of people were dressed up as Hogwarts staff and apparently worked there. Their outfits were great, many of them practically identical to the ones in the film.
And of course there was loooud HP music. The actual screen was 13 x 6 meters, and they'd put up lots of chairs by the pond. All in all, more than 1800 people attended. The film started at around 23:30.^^
Also: several people I knew were there, me and Mathilda (
Just as the movie was ending there was a huge storm, it rained buckets. I haven't been so soaked in AGES. My velvet! D: Sharing a transparent plastic rain poncho and using it as a roof was kinda fun-ish though.
Now, pics. :D
( I had a fish once! )
Thoughts on the movie: (Tiny hint of spoilers, and Quotespam.)

THEN: STORM. RAINED HEAVILY, HUGE LIGHTNING BOLTS, THUNDER. Yup.
Also, Mathilda is here. XDD We're going to go sleep now. Nightie-night.
Will put up pictures tomorrow.

This question was just begging for it. Half of the immortal bloodsuckers I know of seem to speak French, and a couple of them are born and bre(a)d in Ze Country of Ze Loaf. No puns or insinuations there of course. Blondie, Emo and Ginger forever! ^^ (...literally.)
Aside from that: Gonna have to say the language. Even though I've been studying it for 4 years and still fail hard, it's a gorgeous language and I really want to be fluent some day. Not that I think it's ever going to happen. XD
And now I'm going to go celebrate. :D The sun is shining again after two weeks of shitty weather, I'm going to the HARRY POTTER PREVIEW EEEE tomorrow evening (so excited) and I have sweets. Life's okay. :)

Things to look forward to:
- The Harry Potter preview (not really a preview though, it's just that the actual premiere is delayed in Norway, so the preview is on the actual premiere date XD) on July 15th. In a fortress! Costumes! Geeks! :D
- Same date: I Can Haz Company! 8D
- I may also get kidnapped to a cabin later on in the hols, altho I'm kinda doubtful about that.
I mean. Johnny Depp, Heath Ledger, Jude Law (and Colin Farrell)? Count me in. 8D
